 Civil Society and their Problems

Civil society is made up of citizens of a specific community, who are connected together by common interests. It is the third sector of a society. It comprises of many civil organizations along with non-government organizations.

The civil society is the actual meaning of “freedom of speech” where the citizens can speak with full freedom on various matters that are occurring in the society according to their own point of view.

Advantages and Disadvantages of a Civil Society:

As there are advantages of a civil society like providing employment and supporting wide range of beneficiary groups of having equal say in the development of the society. But the civil society also have problems and challenges that they face. Some of the problems that the civil society have are:

Lack of Economic stability:

The inadequacy of the government providing structures and certain mechanisms, especially with regard to ensuring that all types of social groups in the society are performing equally with regards to the management of the country’s affairs. The society is in need for the government to support them economically so that they can achieve their goals towards developing a better and improved state of the society without any financial difficulties.

Lack of Resources:

When a particular country’s government fails to provide an ample number of resources to its people, they automatically become deprived of many facilities that could have been provided to them for better living.

Governmental pressure:

Most of the times, the government puts a lot of pressure on the civil society. As the government demands the progress report from them. In addition to that, the performances and identification of key stakeholders, the types of approaches and standards that are kept for assessing performance are also demanded by the government. The developments and how it has been proved beneficial for the society all things this civil society is held accountable for.

New companies are overtaking now a days. At first, the companies that were established were nonprofit organizations and worked hard to improve the society. But from the past few years those companies have started to shut down and are being took over by profit seeking companies and industries. Which is a matter of concern for the civil society, as it would mean that there would be less investment available for the development of the society.

Public Perceptions:

The organizations that are in the civil society have to make sure to eliminate any sort of Negative propaganda that can cause discredit to any public organizations. Restoring peace and order in the country: The civil society has to constantly make sure that there is no type of trouble caused by them. They have to inform the government about any type of major changes that they are planning to execute.

We should try to resolve the civil society and their problems so that we can live in a peaceful world
